Training Program for Research Scientists in Trauma

The University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, now offers an interdepartmental Training Program in Injury, Ischemia and Inflammation: A Translational Approach to Trauma Treatment for post doctoral fellows. Twenty three faculty from seven departments (Surgery, Cellular and Structural Biology, Physiology, Biostatistics and Engineering, Biochemistry, Endodontics, Pathology) are trainers on this NIH training grant.
The Research Program provides stipends and training for postdoctoral fellows interested in basic and translational research that holds promise for practical application for Surgery and Trauma. Trainees participate in the Masters in Clinical Investigation or PhD in Surgery/Physiology and are given an opportunity to take 24 clinical night calls per year.
Applicant must be a categorical surgical resident in a U.S. accredited surgery program.
